Ugandan President Visits FPT Corporation

On November 25, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and a high-ranking delegation of the Republic of Uganda visited FPT Corporation for the first time. It is part of the agenda of the Ugandan President's official visit to Vietnam from November 23 to 25, 2022, at the invitation of Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Welcoming President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Ugandan high-level delegation, there were FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh, FPT Software CEO Tran Dang Hoa, and representatives of functional units.

Accompanying President Museveni to HoLa Park (FPT's campus in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park) was the Ugandan Foreign Minister, Ministers of Agriculture, Finance, Economic Development, Information and Communication, and Vietnamese Ambassador to the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Uganda Nguyen Nam Tien.

At the meeting, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh shared his enthusiasm about FPT's journey. After 34 years, FPT has gone from zero to hero, becoming a global technology company and establishing a network of partnerships with the world's leading enterprises in the fields of energy, automobile, finance - banking...

Mr. Binh also expressed his wish to contribute to making Uganda a high-tech center of Africa, based on FPT's technology capacity and experience over the past three decades.

For his part, the Ugandan President highly appreciated FPT's development. President Museveni also put his trust in FPT's capabilities in the global digital technology field.

"With the strong growth of pioneering tech enterprises like FPT, Vietnam has successfully elevated its position in the international market, as Digital Transformation has been setting the foundation for the prosperity of humankind. Last but not least, wishing you all success," the Ugandan President said.

In addition, the President also showed his interest in high-quality IT engineering education. For this field,  FPT's representative affirmed that the Corporation would offer scholarships and tuition fees to Ugandan students for joining FPT Education's exchange programs in Vietnam.
