Bac Lieu cooperates with FPT in digital transformation

Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thieu chaired the meeting with FPT Corporation, discussing the investment in information technology development and high-quality education on the afternoon of March 16, 2023.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - FPT's CEO - expressed the desire of the Corporation to establish a high-quality education complex in Bac Lieu. More specifically, FPT aimed to develop schools that meet high national standards in terms of facilities and education quality, contributing to raising the province's position in the Mekong Delta region.

In Bac Lieu, FPT Corporation planned to build an inter-level education complex, including a high school and college, on an area of about 10 hectares. FPT also proposed cooperation in digital transformation in the following areas: digital government, digital economy, smart healthcare systems, and IT workforce development...

Besides, the CEO presented the approach, roadmaps, experience, and results of digital transformation implementation in other provinces and cities across the country in the following pillars: Digital government; Digital society; Digital education; Cashless payment.

Mr. Bui Thanh Toan - Director of Bac Lieu Department of Information and Communications - highly appreciated FPT's attention to the digital transformation of the locality, including its readiness to build digital applications and smart city solutions, as well as the suggestions on implementing cashless payments.

According to the Chairman, Bac Lieu is in need of a capable investor to enormously boost the IT industry, accelerate digital transformation, and promote modern, high-quality, systematic education.

Therefore, the Chairman highly appreciated FPT Corporation's recent research and investment commitment in Bac Lieu province. He also assigned related departments and agencies to coordinate closely with the Corporation through the research process, support FPT in completing relevant procedures, and soon start construction. Bac Lieu would best facilitate the implementation of the project, he emphasized.

Recently, with the desire to support provinces and cities in comprehensive socio-economic development on all three pillars of the digital economy, digital government, and digital society toward the model of a digital nation, the Corporation has partnered with 14 localities nationwide. Up to now, FPT has signed cooperation agreements to promote comprehensive digital transformation with 25 provinces and cities.
