FPT ranks among the Top 5 Best Listed Companies of Corporate Governance For five consecutive years

02/12/2022

Da Nang, December 2, 2022 - Within the agenda of the Conference and the Ceremony of the 2022 Vietnam Listed Companies Awards (VLCA), which was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), FPT was named among the Top 5 Large-Cap Enterprises with Best Corporate Governance. It was the 5th time in a row that FPT has been recognized during the 05 years since the establishment of the Corporate Governance Awards (within the framework of VLCA). Also, it was the 3rd achievement in corporate governance that FPT has won in 2022. Previously, FPT was awarded among the Top 3 Vietnamese Publicly Listed Companies on ASEAN's CG Score List and the Top 15 enterprises with good financial management capacity in 2022.

Undoubtedly, the above-mentioned prestigious awards in corporate governance have reaffirmed FPT's leading position in the industry. In particular, the Corporation's management boards always believe that more than economic growth is needed to face uncertainties and find future opportunities. Thus, enterprises must pay more attention to factors that affect sustainable development.

According to economic experts, companies with good governance are also better valued (with a higher P/B ratio). Moreover, high capitalization and good governance will help businesses attract investors and promote access to long-term capital, especially in today's globalized capital market. In addition, they can ensure sustainable development and better resilience. At the same time, good corporate governance also creates a transparent mechanism to protect the rights of investors and other stakeholders.

In 2021, FPT's sustainable development activities, including corporate governance, environment, and social responsibilities, were also highly appreciated, with a score of 76%, an increase of 11 percentage points compared to the previous year. HoSE evaluated the score based on 100 criteria on Environment, Society, and Corporate Governance (ESG) to promote responsible and sustainable investment in the Vietnamese stock market. More specifically, the corporate governance score rose by eight percentage points, from 69% in 2020 to 77% in 2021. Meanwhile, the average total score of enterprises in Group VN100 (a group of stocks with the highest liquidity and capitalization on the stock market) was 64%.

Prolonging the high and stable growth of 2021, in the first ten months of 2022, FPT's revenue and profit before tax (PBT) reached VND 35.105 billion and VND 6.456 billion, respectively, growing 24,4% and 24% compared to the same period last year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company and EPS reached VND 4,550 billion and VND 4,158, up 30.7% and 30%, respectively. According to SSI Research, FPT may achieve a 22% of growth rate in both revenue and PBT, higher than its target, which was announced at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders in April 2022. In a recent report, Viet Capital Securities also positively assessed 2022 prospects and forecasted that FPT would slightly exceed the set target. According to Viet Capital's projections, FPT's net profit margin would go up from 12.3% in 2022 to 13.5% in 2023 and 14.2% in the following year. SSI Research also foretells that FPT would maintain high development momentum, with an estimated revenue of VND 52,526 billion and PBT of VND 9,130 billion in 2023.
