200 Hope School Students Celebrated The Start of The New Academic Year 2022-2023

On the afternoon of August 26 in Danang, the first 200 students of Hope School attended the Opening Ceremony for the 2022-2023 academic year. More than 350 guests from all parts of the country participated in the ceremony to share their love and care for the children who unfortunately lost their parents because of Covid-19.

The Hope Inter-level School was honored to welcome the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc; the Minister of Education and Training, Nguyen Kim Son; the President of the Vietnam Women's Union, Ha Thi Nga; the Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, Nguyen Van Quang; senior leaders of provinces and cities that had students attending the school; enterprises, organizations, and individuals who were joining hands to nurture the students.

Under the theme of "Spreading Love," the Opening Ceremony marked the first school year of more than 200 Hope School students from 41 provinces across the country under one common roof. With this meaningful event, the school's founders cherished the wish that those youngsters would gradually feel the love of the whole society, motivating them to grow up. The unity of those who took part in the ritual of love connection to express their willingness to nurture the children created memorable moments for the event. So were the bright smiles on the faces of 200 Hope School students on the first day of school. 

At the beginning of the ceremony, the guests were speechless in the dignified and emotional moment when President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Ha Thi Nga, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang and Chairman of FPT Truong Gia Binh led the students into their seats. Their shining smiles, mixed with their proud faces, created emotional highlights.

In the sentimental atmosphere, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent the teachers and students of Hope school the warmest sentiments and best wishes. He also expressed his belief that, as the school's name implied, students of Hope School would become valuable citizens and talented intellectuals who knew how to live a life full of love and joy.

Quoted the world cultural celebrity Nguyen Trai, the President said: "Learning hard makes us wiser, working hard makes us live fuller. Learning and living well is the best way to show gratitude to the people who help you now. You should believe that teachers love you with all their hearts. Many companies, organizations, and the whole community care for you. Studying and training to become helpful to your society, hometown, and country is the most excellent manner to repay this profound affection. "

Along with his inspiring words, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc also presented the school and students with a painting made of stone named "Uncle Ho with children”, books, moon cakes, and a message - they will always receive full of love and knowledge in the way ahead.

In response to the President, Chairman of the Founding Council of Hope School and Chairman of FPT Truong Gia Binh said that the presence of the President was a great happiness, immense love, and priceless encouragement for students of Hope School and nationwide students as a whole when the new academic year was coming. Furthermore, it demonstrated the solid spirit and solidarity of the nation to overcome all difficulties. 

He emphasized: "During the war and under difficult circumstances, our President made great efforts to study, develop himself on his career path and contribute to the homeland and the country. I hope that his success will lead you the way to overcome your loss and do your best to have a bright future for you and our nation".

Represented Hope school students, Luu Huu Nghi (Grade 10) expressed his appreciation to the President, the teachers, the school's founders, and all the guests for establishing the school, giving love, sharing, and caring for him and others.

At the end of the ceremony, Hope School students gifted President Nguyen Xuan Phuc the present they had made during the past three weeks in lieu of their thanks and happiness while receiving national leaders' and community's love and attention. 

Within the event's agenda, guests and students also mingled in the warm-up activities in a rustic, cozy, close space inspired by regional festivals without boundaries. All blended into the flow of love and enjoyed the local products of students' homelands. In addition, they immersed themselves in folk games and stunning performances of guest artists in collaboration with Hope School students.

As the school name implies, "Hope" is not only a place for students to get comprehensive education and development, but above all, it is a home filled with warm love for the children who have suffered from the Covid-19 pandemic. "Hope" is not the future story of the children. Instead, it represents the actions and the daily care expected to spark their love and raise their strengths.

In September 2021, Truong Gia Binh - Chairman of FPT - initiated the idea of building a school for the children who lost their parents due to Covid-19. Within a year, Hope School has received the first 200 students in the 2022-2023 school year. Officially it launches the mission of becoming a school where they are cared for, loved, studied, and trained, thereby growing up and contributing to their homelands and the country in the future. 

In order to fulfill the mission, in addition to the resources of the Founding Council (which includes FPT Corporation and Hope Foundation), the school has also welcomed the cooperation of businesses, organizations, and individuals who desire to bring the best conditions to the children. The love of society and educational facilities are the two pillars for the comprehensive development of the mind, body, and spirit of students. Last but not least, we have grounds to believe that they will become helpful persons to tomorrow's society in all fields.

About Hope School

The Hope inter-level School, founded by FPT Corporation and Hope Foundation, is located in FPT City Da Nang Urban Area (Da Nang City). It was established to nurture and train students who have lost their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the desire to share with them, give them love, and motivate them to develop.

Previously, on September 16, 2021, FPT's Chairman Truong Gia Binh initiated the idea of building a school for children who lost their parents due to COVID-19 with the desire to create a safe environment for them to be cared for, loved, and trained. In addition, the school aimed to turn their pain into power, growing up and contributing to the country's future growth.

About supporting organizations

In addition to the internal resources of FPT Corporation and other founding members, Hope School has recently received the help of numerous organizations and enterprises such as The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Thien Long Group, Phuc Tam Foundation, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), Tan Long Group, Phan Chau Trinh University... which support and provide many necessities to take care of the students' lives and studies.

The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union supports the connection of students nationwide with the school through the program "Encircled in the Arms of Love." Launched in October 2021, the program linked organizations and individuals to accompany orphans due to the Covid-19 pandemic in a long-term and sustainable manner.

• Phuc Tam Foundation sponsors children to visit their homelands at least twice a year. 
• Thien Long Group sponsors students with 5.000 packages of creative tools for learning and playing in 5 years (2021 – 2025). 
• Tan Long Group sponsors foodstuffs such as A An rice and BaF pork. The Group also funds cold storage to preserve frozen or fresh goods for the school.
• Phan Chau Trinh University sponsors free health care services for students during their time at school. The University also gives 200 full scholarships to students enrolling in its health-related majors.
• It is expected that in the 2022-2023 school year, Hope School will receive more than 27.000 cups of TH True Milk for students from VSF.

In addition, subscribers of FPT Corporation, such as FPT Education, FPT Telecom, and FPT Software... regularly have practical support activities on school facilities, learning materials, soft skills courses, and vocational guidance.
