FPT Japan reaches the milestone of USD 100 million in revenue

FPT Japan officially hit the milestone of USD 100 million (equivalent to over VND 2,200 billion) in the first 10 months of 2016. With this revenue record, FPT Japan becomes Vietnam’s largest IT service provider in Japan and is approaching earnings made by the top 50 IT companies in Japan, including  giants such as Fujitsoft, DTS, Systena etc.

Sales of FPT Japan always grew at 32% per year over the past 10 years. This revenue growth rate of FPT Japan was 2.5 times higher than the average growth rate of export turnovers between Vietnam and Japan (at 13.9% per year) from 2006 to 2015. Besides, according to the General Administration of Customs, 24 out of 80 export markets of Vietnam had export turnover of less than USD 100 million by the end of September 2016.

FPT Corporation has always considered Japan as its most important market. With 760 employees in Japan and support resources including 4,500 IT engineers in the country, the company has set a target of being among the top 50 IT companies in Japan in 2017. Further, FPT Japan is expected to contribute 50% of its total revenue target of USD 1 billion from the overseas markets in 2020.

Chairman of FPT Software Hoang Nam Tien said that Japan's third industrial revolution in the 1960s created a powerful Japan and in the fourth industrial revolution known for the digital transformation, Japan needed to speed up.

Vietnam's software industry now has the opportunity to work with Japan to change its own position in the industrial revolution. This is due to a young workforce with knowledge of the internet of things (IoT), including social, mobile, analytics and cloud (S.M.A.C) who are ready to participate in the digital revolution. “I believe that with over 10 years of work experience in Japan and a large pool of employees knowing Japanese and meeting strict quality requirements, FPT Japan will have the opportunity to develop more strongly here in the near future,” said he.

Setting a total revenue target of USD1 billion from the overseas markets in 2020, FPT’ global strategy will focus on IT services based upon new technology trends for leading corporations in the world and services successfully deployed in Vietnam for firms in developing countries.

After 17 years of implementing its strategy of globalization, FPT is represented in 19 countries with nearly 27,000 employees. In the first nine months of 2016, its global revenues reached VND 4,169 billion (equivalent to USD187 million).
