FPT Play Launches the 2022 Edition of the TV Decoder

Ho Chi Minh City, September 6, 2022, FPT Play officially introduced the 2022 FPT Play Decoder, the very first decoder in Vietnam that integrates both IPTV and OTT on the same device, in the special launching event at GEM Center.

Confirming its leadership in television technology and copyrighted content, FPT Play has introduced customers to the latest version of the television decoder called 2022 FPT Play. With breakthroughs in technology integration and styling design, the 2022 FPT Play Decoder is expected to fulfill customers' increasing and diverse requirements.

The two most crucial TV technologies, which FPT Play all holds, are integrated on the same device for the first time. Currently, two distinct types of decoders are dedicated separately to IPTV and OTT. With FPT Play's 2-in-1 device, users can experience the unique and uninterrupted service of FPT Play with any carrier from anywhere. The 2022 FPT Play Decoder is also part of the high-tech ecosystem of FPT Telecom that gradually enhances the customer experience towards a digital life and digital society.

Not only is FPT Play a pioneer in combining two TV technology platforms, but it also brings a device with many design differences compared to its predecessors. The AmI (Ambient Intelligence) element is embedded in the minimalist aesthetics of the Bauhaus style, which is the transversal design philosophy of the 2022 FPT Play Decoder. Furthermore, the sizing and designing details of the device are calculated based on the condensation and exaltation of the natural spirit, thereby aiming to resonate and integrate into any living space.

The 2022 FPT Play Decoder is an innovative model with a solid square box shape. It has two color versions: stone gray and pearl white. In both versions, the shades are chosen so as to be the closest to the colors of nature. Combined with the basic curvature and ambient lighting effects on the front of the device, these shades create a luxurious and sophisticated visual impression.

Simultaneously with the concept of "the heart of the Smart Living ecosystem," this product allows users to control all devices in the smart home ecosystem thanks to the IoT Core hub service. The operations can be performed directly on the FPT Smart Home application or via Vietnamese voice commands integrated into the remote control.

Sharing about the technological improvement, Pham Thanh Tuan - General Director of FPT Play - said: "We want to go further by making this device a link between all activities of smart living space. At the launching event, FPT Play also announced a new operating system called iZiOS. Built on the most advanced Android TV 11 operating system, iZiOS delivers outstanding improvements in performance and user experience. The latest version not only provides a unified, synchronized interface across all devices but also increases security and optimizes channel access speed by up to 40% compared to previous versions. 

The 2022 FPT Play Decoder will be officially delivered to customers nationwide from September 2022.
