On the 12th and 13th, 2023, on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of "FPT Day for the Community" and 35 years of its establishment, FPT Corporation organized a series of volunteer activities under the theme of "FPT - 35 years of Happy Footprints" in five major cities: Hanoi, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, the Happy Run in Da Nang and Quy Nhon attracted 6,000 participants, including FPT employees, their families, and sports-loving communities.

To mark its 13 years of persistently doing charity, FPT Corporation held the Launching Ceremony of the "FPT Day for the Community" on March 12 and 13 in five cities: Hanoi, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Can Tho, and Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, a series of relevant activities involved nearly 10,000 people to take part in, including The running race named "FPT - 35 years of Happy Footprints" (or the Happy Run), blood donation, free health screenings open to the public, fundraising booths for charities, FPT employees' donation of one day's salaries, etc.

In particular, the Happy Run in Da Nang engaged 3.500 participants, including FPT employees, their families, and sports-loving communities. With two distances of 1.35K and 3.5K, the participants experienced a beautiful running track across the Nguyen Van Troi pedestrian bridge - the oldest bridge connecting two banks of the Han River. For every 100,000 VND contributed by each participant, FPT Corporation donates 1 million VND respectively, successfully raising more than 3.5 billion VND for the Hope Foundation's "Light up the School" program. The program aims to build and upgrade school facilities, bring books and teaching materials to disadvantaged areas, and offer scholarships to children in special circumstances across the country.

At the event, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Records Association - the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) announced FPT's national record for the most crowded choreographed dance named "Create happiness" (which was performed by FPT staff members and their families). According to Vietkings, 3,500 people were dancing to the song "Create happiness" by Thai Son. The dynamic choreography, accompanied by the bright color of the running shirts, aroused the spirit of joy - love - cohesion, spreading FPT's mission of "Building a happier future together".

On the same day, 2,500 people took part in the "FPT Happy Run 2023" in Quy Nhon City, with a distance of 1.35K, getting attractive incentives. Participants could also look around and explore the latest technology products of FPT subsidiaries (FPT Software, FPT Smart Cloud, FPT Telecom), visit FPT Education students' food stands, and immerse themselves in entertainment activities for individuals and families.

Besides, the virtual race, "FPT - 35 years of Happy Footprints," is held from March 3 to September 2 on the online sports platform V-Race. The event is expected to have 135,000 registrants from 135 localities and territories worldwide, towards the goal of 3.5 million km in total running distance. To show support for the 3.5 million km journey to raise 3.5 billion VND for children who live in disadvantaged areas, all individuals and organizations around the world can join the race here. The race consists of three stages: Stage 1 - "Pride of FPT" (March 3  to May 2), Stage 2 - "Flying high" (May 3 to July 2), and Stage 3 - "Happiness to share" (July 3 to September 2).

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - CEO of FPT, through the series of events on the "FPT Day for the Community," FPT called out for more companionship of like-minded organizations, businesses, and individuals to positively impact the lives of others and help our country grow. "If we are determined, we will make a huge impact. Kindness and compassion will connect more companions on the volunteer journeys, bringing positive changes to society," emphasized the CEO.

FPT has given away 702 billion VND in 13 years of doing charity

During its 35 years of development, FPT has constantly focused on CSR activities to benefit stakeholders. Since 2010, March 13/3 has been chosen as "FPT Day for the Community" for employees to participate in social contribution activities through specific actions. Over the past decade, more than 702 billion VND has been contributed from the budget of FPT Corporation, employees, and others to organize thousands of philanthropic activities. 70% was for providing educational opportunities and supporting the young generations, such as scholarships to children with health problems linked to dioxin exposure and excellent students who overcome adversity. In addition, the Corporation and its subsidiaries carried out various charitable activities nationwide, such as building free bridges and "happy houses", implementing school renovation projects, sponsoring treatment costs for child patients with cancer… Hundreds of new bridges and dozens of schools were built firmly in the middle of the mountains, forests, and rural areas. Thousands of children were thoroughly cared for regarding physical health with the determined mandate: "no child left behind."

In the coming time, FPT will continue to organize charity programs across the country: building and renovating schools, donating to computer labs, providing better access to books, offering learning and living supplies to students at the North/Central/South border areas, and building bridges in the Mekong Delta region…
