FPT cooperates with An Giang to promote digital transformation

On 26 Oct 2022, An Giang People's Committee and FPT Corporation signed a cooperation agreement to promote digital transformation through 2025. Accordingly, the detailed contents include: synergizing intellectual resources to accelerate digital transformation; developing multidimensional interconnection to improve the management efficiency of local committees and authorities at all levels; promoting cashless payments; training high-quality human resources to ensure stable and sustainable socio-economic development.

Represented An Giang province were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairperson of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Provincial Digital Transformation Steering Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairperson of the Provincial People's Committee and Deputy Head of the Provincial Digital Transformation Steering Committee; and representatives of local departments and units. On the FPT side were Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - CEO of FPT - and representatives of the Corporation's subsidiaries.

According to the agreement, FPT and An Giang province will jointly develop action plans in a wide range of aspects to promote digital transformation. In particular, not only completing professional documents and assessing the current provincial IT system, but the agreement also mentioned enhancing digital infrastructure, digital economy, digital society, and human resources training and development.

In terms of the digital economy, FPT will organize promotion programs to join An Giang's businesses and households to deliver local products throughout the country through the Sendo e-commerce platform. In addition, companies that site their location in An Giang province will be consulted to deploy digital transformation processes. The two sides will also cooperate in promoting digital payment solutions for public services, public utilities, and commerce. At the same time, FPT will coordinate with local leadership to communicate and directly support people and businesses in order to successfully implement the goals in the Implementation Plan of the Scheme on the development of non-cash payment in An Giang province in the period of 2021-2025.

In terms of high-quality human resources development, the provincial government will facilitate FPT Education to invest in high-quality inter-level high schools and the FPT Polytechnic college project... following the provisions of current law.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairperson of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Digital Transformation Steering Committee, said: "The partnership agreement between An Giang province and FPT Corporation sets the first step for both sides to work closely with each other in the coming time. On behalf of the local leaders, I would like to express my faith in your core strengths and look forward to receiving valuable advice and experiences in digital transformation. Your support will contribute greatly to digitalizing our homeland in harmony with the province's current conditions and socio-economic characteristics". The Chairperson also believed that the cooperation would be the stable foundation to accelerate digital transformation in An Giang, contributing to promoting the province's sustainable development and the implementation of the Government's digital transformation roadmap.

With the support of the Government and local leaders across the country, FPT signed digital transformation cooperation agreements with 24 localities and gave digital transformation training sessions for tens of thousands of provincial leaders at all levels in the past year.

Based on its digital transformation experience, local socio-economic characteristics, and competitive advantages, the Corporation will accompany provinces to develop comprehensively in all three pillars (Digital Economy, Digital Government, and Digital Society) toward the digital nation model. Furthermore, it will help localities flexibly adapt to the new normal by consulting on socio-economic development planning, digital transformation scheming, and training to raise awareness on a large scale.
