FPT Launches the "Leader Talk - Journey To Your Future" series For Technology Students

Hanoi, September 8, 2022, FPT Corporation kicked off a series of "Leader Talk - Journey To Your Future" shows for technology students, starting at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT). During the event, FPT Telecom's Chairperson Hoang Nam Tien and experts gave students an inspiring overview of technology trends, FPT's technological capabilities, and human resource trends for the technology industry, equipping students with the knowledge to boost their job prospects while they were at university.

The "Leader Talk - Journey To Your Future" show at PTIT consisted of two parts: talk show and game show. At the beginning of the event, Mr. Hoang Nam Tien - Chairperson of FPT Telecom - impressed students with extraordinary gifts, internship programs, and job opportunities provided by FPT. Then, the hall space was warmed up when PTIT students interacted with the Chair of FPT Telecom to get gifts on the stage.

Dr. Vu Tuan Lam - Deputy Director of PTIT - affirmed that FPT had had a strong partnership with PTIT over the years. As a result, many of PTIT's students and alumni are working and building their careers in FPT Corporation and its subsidiaries. By joining FPT Leader talk 2022, students are expected to get better perspectives of their industrial practices and skill sets. Therefore, students can have internship opportunities and quickly find jobs in the future.

In the talk show, PTIT students met with leading experts at FPT. Dr. Dang Khanh Hung - Research Director at FPT Blockchain Lab - heated up the hall with the Metaverse and Blockchain topics. Mr. Dang Khanh Hung provided the most precise and realistic definition of the Metaverse and its specific types at present. PTIT students also learned about the Metaverse space that FPT has been developing to have a more transparent and applicable view of this technological concept.

Dr. Hoang Danh Liem - Director of Computer Vision at FPT Smart Cloud Center - shared the AI topic. He also introduced two popular applications of AI that he and his colleagues are exploring, which were FPT.AI Voice Maker (Voice Processing) and FPT AI Car Damage (Vehicle Damage Detection). According to Dr. Hoang Danh Liem, the development and application of AI are currently getting the most attention. FPT's AI applications with prominent and customizable features have been widely applied in many fields.

A "nuclear briefcase" appeared to surprise all participants in the hall room. Mr. Truong Van Tuyen - Technical Director of FPT Telecom's Smart Home - used this briefcase to retell the history of the innovative home project - FPT Play Box (The voice control TV service that can control smart home devices). In addition, he overviewed IoT Smart Home and practical applications in this field. Together with the expert, PTIT students experienced a demo of the preeminent smart home system for Vietnamese people produced by FPT.

Job opportunities in FPT right away for students 

In the talk show, FPT Telecom' Chairperson Hoang Nam Tien also shared stories of PTIT alumni who have successfully established their career paths at FPT. He also discussed with PTIT students about current human resource trends in the information technology industry. According to him, what IT students need to prepare is continuously lifelong learning skills.

The future of work and perspectives of people losing jobs to robots told by the Chair encouraged students to explore their curiosity about how to work and build a career in the IT industry. He said that job opportunities for Telecommunications Technology students are wide open, bringing good income. However, to take advantage of opportunities to break through, PTIT's students must master English and life skills and have distinctive lifestyles and good health. Besides, the market is yearning for employees with a different mindset, good adaptability, and high ability to become global citizens.

"There are currently 756 employees of FPT as PTIT alumni. So we have numerous jobs here for you guys. I hope and expect you to become my colleagues someday," affirmed Mr. Tien.

After the talk show, three PTIT students participated in the game show named "Thank God! PTIT's students are here". Three "heads of departments" included Mr. Hoang Nam Tien - Chairperson of FPT Telecom, Ms. Nguyen Bich Hanh - Director of FPT Software Center, and Mr. Phan The An - FPT Telecom's Internal Training Instructor. Each student had 10 minutes to experience the office situation with the department heads. Practical problems that accurately reflect the work atmosphere at the office and the humorous, intelligent reciprocal conversations of the leaders and the students brought much fun. The quizzes further gave students a better understanding of FPT's open culture and exciting working environment. In the end, FPT's representative awarded the Global Software Engineer Scholarship of FPT Software Academy worth $1000/scholarship to three students participating in the game show.

The first event of the "Leader Talk - Journey To Your Future" series hosted at PTIT attracted thousands of students. Organizing this series, FPT aims to cooperate with universities in high-quality education and training, supporting students in skills and knowledge to help them better seek career development opportunities. FPT also offers many internships and long-term work opportunities for students of each university where the events are about to take place. The series will continue to be held in October and November.
