Deputy Minister of Information and Communications: FPT Complex will be an inspiring model

Da Nang, April 20, 2023 - Representatives of the Ministry of Information and Communications - Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung - and the Executive Committee of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Da Nang City Nguyen Van Quang announced and presented Decision No. 261/QD-TTg recognizing FPT Complex as the information technology concentrated area for Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT. FPT Complex will be entitled to all preferential policies on taxes and investment for the IT concentrated area according to the provisions of Decree No. 154/2013/ND-CP and other preferential policies applicable to the IT concentrated area according to the law. Currently, FPT Complex has nearly 6.000 software employees. It is expected that FPT Complex will complete phase three by 2024, expanding its seating capacity to accommodate 10,000 employees.

On behalf of The Ministry of Information and Communications, Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung and Director of the Information Technology and Communication Industry Department Nguyen Thien Nghia joined the event. From the leadership of Da Nang City, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, a member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, and Head of the Da Nang City National Assembly Delegation; Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, a Municipal Party Committee member, Vice Chairperson of the Municipal People's Council; Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Yen, Municipal Party Committee member, Vice Chairperson of the City People's Committee; and Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh, Municipal Party Committee member, Deputy Head of the Da Nang City Digital Transformation Steering Committee, and Director of the Da Nang City Information and Communications Department. In addition, FPT was represented by Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT; Mr. Le Quang Tien, Chairman of FPT Investment Company; Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, CEO of FPT Da Nang Urban Joint Stock Company; Mr. Nguyen Khai Hoan, Deputy CEO of FPT Software; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phuong, Chairman of FPT Software LLC in the Central region, and representatives from other functional departments.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung said that this was an important event that affirmed the position and role of Da Nang City in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry development in Vietnam. So far, ICT clusters in Vietnam have achieved positive successes, inspiring other places such as the Quang Trung Software Park, Da Nang Software Park, and now the FPT Complex ICT cluster. Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung also added that in the coming time, the Ministry of Information and Communications would accompany the FPT Complex ICT cluster in promoting Da Nang to become the technology center of Vietnam and to rise as a center of the ICT industry in the region.

Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Yen - a member of the City Party Committee and Deputy Chairman of the City's People's Committee - said that FPT Complex was the third largest Information technology (IT) concentration area in Da Nang and the fifth IT concentration area established by the Prime Minister. It was also the first IT concentration area invested with funds from businesses in the city. FPT Complex would enhance the position and brand of Da Nang's IT industry and build Da Nang's digital technology industry into a key economic sector. According to Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Yen, FPT Complex currently has contributed 69% of the total software export revenue of Da Nang and played a critical role in attracting high-quality human resources from various places to come here.

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT, said, "FPT Complex, the IT concentration area, not only contributes to the development of FPT and Da Nang city in particular but also brings a new image of life to the people of Da Nang through creating thousands of stable jobs and hundreds of international delegations." Furthermore, with the desire to make Da Nang a global digital resource center, Mr. Khoa expressed his hope that the leaders of Da Nang City would continue to create favorable conditions for developing the ecosystem of connectivity and expanding the FPT Complex within the next 3-5 years, and promote attracting investors to Da Nang to promote green economic development, enriching the network of high-quality human resource training centers to create new attractiveness for Da Nang. At the same time, Mr. Khoa also pledged that FPT would devote all resources and accompany in calling for businesses to invest in Da Nang to make Da Nang a global digital resource center and contribute to bringing the best quality of life for local people.
